Squash The Barriers Scholarship
For our students, the biggest barrier to post-secondary isn't ambition, it's cost. Founded by Northpine Foundation, the Squash The Barriers Scholarship gives every Urban Squash high school student the chance to earn up to $10,000 toward post-secondary education.
How it works
From high school to post-secondary
How the scholarship works
Students can earn $2,500 for every year of high school they stay engaged in the program.
Awards add up year after year, to as much as $10,000 by graduation.
Once a student is accepted, funds are paid directly to schools and vendors throughout their studies, covering tuition, textbooks, housing and other costs as they come up.
How students earn it
Keeping up their grade average or following their tutoring plan, and handing in report cards on time.
Strong overall attendance and steady engagement in squash or an alternative activity.
Supporting their peers as a positive role model and giving back through volunteering and community service.
Setting and reviewing their goals in twice-yearly Student Pathways meetings.
University, college, trade school and accredited apprenticeships all qualify. Every student is also expected to follow our code of conduct.
